If so how much do you sell and is it worth the headaches,,and how much honey do you sell in a years time.Thanks.

selling honey is very good idea maybe go to swap meets flee markets things like that my dad sells about .05% of his crop but he makes abot 80,000 to 100,000 pounds of honey a year and with honey that you grow you can almost name your own price good luck

I personally don’t have bees, but know people who do. Your extension agent should be able to help you find out what/ if there are regulations to meet before you start (health department, department of agriculture, etc.) in regard to packaging and labeling, whether it can be raw. All of that will make a difference in the headaches involved with selling. Of course if you don’t have a whole lot your extra makes extremely welcome gifts.

We have a nice local apple orchard and one of the people I know puts hives there every year in the pollination season. (Later he moves them to alfalfa or buckwheat fields.) The orchard buys the honey in bulk and sells it at the orchard under their label. All he really does is tend his hives and deliver the honey.

If you find out that the regs are manageable, farmers markets are great outlets especially if you team up with a regular who would like an extra "draw" to his/her stand. Barter to provide relief at the stand, to cover it. One of my favorite produce stands also carries local honey on commission and it all sells. I have to ask when it is coming in and not drag my feet to get what I want.

Good luck, there you go, all the concerns I know of and options to sell. I am afraid I have no info on the profit involved.
